Symptoms of Depression
Depression is an all too common thing in many people’s lives. With depression needing immediate treatment there are a few signs to watch out for; they are as follows; and if you think you or someone close to you is suffering from depression then you have to contact your health professional or doctor to get it treated as soon as you can.
- Complete lack of energy
- Physical and also mental feeling of fatigue and tiredness
- Things you used to enjoy are no longer enjoyable for you; such as walking or a hobby
- Crying at any time for no apparent reason
- Sleeping patterns become scattered; you may feel tired in the afternoon and not sleep at night and they become erratic and unpredictable
- Insomnia – not being able to sleep at all even though you feel exhausted
- Fast weight gain
- Fast weight loss
- Unable to perform sexually or lack of sex drive
- Suicidal thoughts
- Dull aches and pains that are constant
- Finding simple things difficult to do
- Not being able to remember simple things
- Unable to concentrate on even the easiest of tasks
- Feelings of sadness, worthlessness, guilt; even though there is no apparent reason for such feelings
- Inner digestive problems and constant and painful stomach aches
If you feel you are suffering from one or more of these symptoms you will need to see a health professional or a doctor as soon as you can.
Here is a list of things that your doctor will need to see if you’re suffering from and to determine whether or not you have depression; also you will have had to had these symptoms for at least two weeks to fully realize whether or not its depression.
- Disturbance with your sleep pattern; if you find your needing to sleep more than 8 hours a night and you still don’t feel refreshed or perhaps you wake in the middle of the night and you are always unable to get back to sleep. Or maybe you just can’t sleep at all
- Your body feels sluggish and tired all the time; no energy in your body, muscles or your mind; you feel both physically and mentally tired all the time and you cannot get enough rest
- Your speech may have changed to a slow tone and you may be slurring your words; this could come from the fatigue and the lack of or too much sleep
- Extreme feelings of low self esteem; especially if things have always been ok with you in the past; it may be a complete shift in character or a slight one
- Dramatic changes in weight; you may have put on a lot of weight or you may have lost so much its affecting your organs and general health
- You may become irritable very easily and swing from one mood to another at any given time.
There are so many more; if you generally do not feel well; or you feel low; seek help immediately and take care of what you were given. |
